Housed in the former Bakery on the Waterfront at Royal Clarence Yard, the new Bakers Bar & Kitchen opened with a launch evening on February 21st with England World Cup Winning Rugby players Steve Thompson and Ben Cohen joining them to mark the occasion.
The building served as a bakery for the Navy, and still maintains the original ovens, which are features of the bar and dining area.
The owners say that wherever possible, they use local ingredients and suppliers including coffee and gin, as well as making their own breads and doughs. With ties to the Powder Monkey Brewing Co, they also stock beers from this local business who are bringing a new brewing experience to Gosport. Menus offer a great range from tapas to enjoy with a pint, through to burgers, pizzas and salads. Sunday roasts with all the trimmings feature too.
There is also a quiet Café bar, Upstairs at Bakers, serving locally roasted coffee, paninis, sandwiches, cakes and snacks to eat in or take away. Corporate enquiries are welcome, as are groups for meetings, clubs etc
Sports TV
The Bakers team are big sports fans. Be it Rugby, Cricket, Tennis, Football or athletics, they plan to showing the major sporting events on their big screens.
