The Sustainable Conservation Trust (SCT) is a non-profit organisation dedicated to revitalising historic structures by harnessing the power of creativity. (https://www.sustainableconservationtrust.com/)
Will be holding an open day in the Slaughterhouse on Friday 13th September 2024 (no we are not superstitious!). They hope you will come along to hear more about the plans and give them an opportunity to hear your views and concerns.
The day will comprise -
Exhibitions of local artists
Creative art workshops and demonstrations of traditional art and craft skills
They are in the process of securing funding for 3-5 year tenure and already have endorsement and support from Gosport Borough Council, the landlord (Watson’s Property), Hampshire Cultural Trust, Historic England and Arts Council England, as well as local youth organisations, schools and arts organisations. The first year will focus on initial use and trials, the second year on developing more partnerships, and the third year delivering on what works and securing commercial sector income for sustainability.
