Flagstaff Green Pond Pathway - Consultation

Public consultation on proposal to replace resin-bond surface with paving: deadline for comments to GBC Planning 12 March.

RMG has submitted a planning application to Gosport Borough Council with a proposal to replace the failed resin-bond pathway around the pond with flagstones. A planning application is required for this change to the appearance of the pond because Flagstaff Green is a Locally Listed Garden, within the Royal Clarence Yard Conservation Area.

Details of the proposal are available in the Design and Access Statement on the GBC Planning Portal (ref 22/00084/FULL).

The reason for the proposed change is stated to be: "The upgrade in materials will improve the durability of the pathway and ensure repeated, costly repairs are not recurrent. It will also improve the overall appearance of this area by removing the ability of the pathway to break up and spread across the garden and into the pond."

We would like to encourage RCY residents to have a look at the proposals on the GBC Planning portal using the reference above. Comments can be made directly on the planning website using the "Comments" tab or by e-mailing planning@gosport.gov.uk (be sure to include your name, address and the planning ref 22/00084/FULL.)

Deadline for comments on this planning application is 12 March 2022.
