Repairs to the structure of the southern Waterfront decking has started this week. The surface boards are largely in a good state. Unfortunately, that is not the case with the structure beneath the surface. A contractor has been appointed to do the works which are expected to take place in stages, expecting to complete by the end of June. Access to the Marina will be maintained and temporary measures put in place when necessary.
During the works, the decking lighting will also be inspected and repaired where necessary with a view to ensuring that these lights are easier to maintain in the future.
Similar repairs to the northern decking (opposite the Bakery) is likely to be scheduled for next summer.
