Adrian Barnes
My wife and I became owners of property in Galleon Place in 2017. We became residents in 2020, having moved from the New Forest.
I am a Chartered Biologist with a professional interest in sustainable manufacture and agriculture. Early years were spent in what was then Portsmouth Polytechnic Biology Dept, but I moved into manufacturing nearly fifty years ago and remained until I sold my own social responsibility in production company. I am now retired.
I have a passion for reptiles and was the snake surveyor for the north of the New Forest for many years. I am on the committee of the Peter Symonds College alumni association and an ex employer’s pensioners association.
I love this location and hope that I can be of service to the community.

Galleon Place Rep
David Whitehead
Having qualified as a Chartered Accountant with PwC, I moved into the commercial side of finance in various Financial Director roles and latterly as a consultant in Corporate Finance. Interests range through field hockey, golf, wildlife, and all aspects of boating and sailing. My wife, Dy (Diana) and I moved to an apartment in Galleon Place in 2013. Our aim being to downsize to a property we could “lock and leave” in order to travel more. I have been a member of the Residents’ Association committee for the last 8 years. Even in our brief time at Royal Clarence we have seen many changes and I look forward to helping to make this Estate a sociable and enjoyable place to live.
Granary Rep
Lian Munday
Born in Melton Mowbray deep in the heart of the East Midlands, I have had numerous careers from managing nightclubs to hotels and even wine merchants to my current life as an IT consultant.
I was a parish councillor in the village I used to live prior to moving here and I was also the chair of the Little Lane Residents Association for 13 years before moving south.
I moved to Gosport, Officers Gardens in 2018 and decided to move to the Granary in November 2022. My dad was born at Haslar Hospital when my grandfather was in the Navy. We spent many happy holidays down here as children, it feels like I have come home
Bakery North Rep
Alison Scott
I moved to Royal Clarence with my husband Andy in September 2021 after spending many years boating in Gosport. Since moving, I have really enjoyed the community here at Royal Clarence and am looking forward to meeting more of my neighbours and helping build on this. We love living in a listed building with so much character and history despite its quirks and listed single glazed windows. Gosport is a great place to live with everything on the doorstep and it allows us to spend lots of time on or by the water. I have spent my whole career in the public sector.and still work full time as a director of a local authority in Hertfordshire. I drive up to the office once or twice a week, with some extremely early starts and late finishes, and nothing says 'home' better than the sight of the Spinnaker Tower lit up as I drive down the Forton Road.
Ledwell Court Rep
Steve Parry
I have been a resident in Royal Clarence Marina since 2006, I am retired and am interested in sailing, golf and wildlife photography. I have been the block rep for Ledwell Court on the Residents Association committee for a number of years. In addition I have also been active with a small group of Phase H residents dealing with RMG and Berkeley Homes to push for fire safety certificates that will satisfy mortgage lenders. I am also making sure, together with Yvonne Mills, that we keep abreast of legislative changes and any other issues concerning leasehold and ground rents. Royal Clarence is a great place to live in a marvellous location and together with the committee I am very keen to make sure this continues.

Chandlers Apts Reps
Brian and Debra Ott
We have lived in The Chandlers since 2018 and have one of the best views imaginable. We are both retired, Brian from relationship management and Debra from teaching maths. We have 4 children between us and also 4 grandchildren. Brian’s interests are mainly sport related, particularly playing golf, although he also enjoys reading and travel - we finally got to do our month long road trip in the USA in 2022, having had it postponed twice due to COVID. Debra also watches quite a lot of sport, walking around the golf course (particularly enjoying the 19th hole) and spends (too much) time doing puzzles.
Chandlers Apts Reps
Sue Farmer
"Geoffrey and I purchased our apartment in Clarence Marina in 2013, initially seeking a 'lock up and leave' property - a base between many and varied trips abroad, pursuing retirement hobbies - Golf Journalist and Photographer!
Before meeting Geoffrey. I was variously involved in the Fruit and Vegetable Industry, having been introduced to that Trade while PA to the Directors of Geest Industries. A series of take-overs UK-wide, led to my secondment to London, to set up Offices for influential Market Trading Companies.
That background interest led to Joint Ownership of a secondary Wholesale Company based in what was then Spitalfields Market. Our Company supplied fresh produce to the Catering trade - Private Directors' dining rooms in numerous Banks/Financial Institutions in the City...small, prestige Restaurants.
We sold...... I retired!
Out of the blue, I found a further niche - an unlooked for invitation from the Portuguese Tourism Board (Lisbon) to advise and assist in the development and promotion of Golf in Portugal... followed by the opportunity to join other Journalists in the promotion of that sport via a world-wide Golf Travel & Tourism Organisation."
